I am a published poet whose passion lies in crafting commemorative poems that are unique to the life and personality of your loved one. I find great joy in capturing the essence of an individual and creating a special poem that pays tribute to their life story, their personality or their life’s work.
As a celebrant I am aware that it can be tricky to find a reading that feels just right or that sums up an interest that the deceased had. Whether it's a poem that beautifully depicts their affinity with football, elephants, or Greece, or a poem that sums up a love between those passed and those left behind, I ensure that each line is infused with significance, tailored to the specific service, whether it be a funeral ceremony or memorial.
This service can be accessed separately from my role as a celebrant. I offer the option of a professional recording of the poem, which can be integrated into a video or accompanied by images. Alternatively, the poem can be sent as a written piece for someone else to read.
The service
I will set up a zoom meeting to discuss you wishes for the tone of the piece, and to find out about the character of the person you have lost, so that we can create something truly fitting. I will then write the poem for you which you will receive within two days. I am dedicated to creating a profound and heartfelt poem that creates a cherished gift for those seeking to honour their loved ones in a personal way.

To have known love
To have known love is to have known light,
The light of two Souls,
That shine together in joyous union,
Brighter in their merging,
Wiser for their knowing,
Warmer for the close comfort of their joining,
A loving smile holds the light of love,
Treasured like a trace of gold, against a peace-filled open sky,
For loves capacity knows no bounds,
It holds not a grudge,
It stands firm and brave in the face of fear,
It speaks of acceptance, loyalty and truth,
It is forgiving, forthright, fathomless and fun,
The light does not go out,
Its presence does not fade,
The light goes on, brighter still
Carried forward in the heart,
Forever held safe, in the grace and softness of belonging.
